Data Management is the process of recording necessary documents or vital information and managing it. When first implemented in 1980, document recording moved from sequential processing (first cards, then tape) to random access processing. This is a practice that allows companies to record and store information onto smaller items without hosting a large amount of documents. This practice can reduce a company’s carbon footprint and can keep track of records such as inventory.
