Part of the World Health Organization, the Department of Food Safety and Zoonoses (FOS) is a leader on a global scale in reducing the impact of food borne illness and disease throughout the world. Due to the more recent trend of globalization in food production, there has been an increased demand for food safety research. Within this program, the FOS develops policies to protect the consumer’s health and food safety with strategies to prevent and contain the risks within an international community.
