Toxigenic Microorganisms are pathogenic bacteria that cause foodborne illness in humans due to the ingestion of poisonous toxins produced in food. Foods that are capable of the growth of these are milk and dairy products, eggs, meat, poultry, shellfish, and fish. For example, if a person went to a restaurant and ate a particular food containing toxigenic microorganisms, they will become very ill, for a day or more, with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.
