eSourcing is typically thought of as the process of locating and selecting suppliers using internet resources and software tools. Whereas e-procurement is typically considered the term used for the end-to-end process of selecting suppliers all the way to execution of contracts using e-tools which can include using existing vendors, sourcing deals with more of the initial investigative research, and finding new sources of the needed good or service.
