An attribute is a portion used to provide additional classification or information about a resource, activity, or cost object. The information is related to an identification number, e.g., an expiration date with a Global Trade Item Number. An attribute can also be a specification, feature, or characteristic that describes the physical, compositional, or structural properties of a good or service. Examples of the characteristics are: a score or grade of product or activity, or groupings of these items, and performance measures.
