A BSP is a company which rents third-party software application packages to their customers. A BSP is comparable to an ASP (Application Service Provider) in which they provide a cost-effective way to obtain applications via networks. Small and mid-sized firms are more attracted to BSPs since they have low start-up costs and low monthly fees, whereas ASPs are more capital intensive.
